Rev. Fetty served as Adjunct Instructor of Theology at Molloy College (a Roman Catholic school) in Rockville Centre, New York from 1992 to 2001, and has been actively involved in various community groups and has served on numerous boards and committees of denominational, professional, community and ecumenical organizations.  He has traveled extensively and has led International Religious Heritage Tours to China, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, France, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Ecuador and Peru, and South Africa.  He has, in addition, traveled independently to Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Puerto Rico, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Mexico.    

 

He lectures often on a wide range of topics related to theology, philosophy and Bible and continues to be a frequent guest preacher.  Lecture topics include:  The Dead Sea Scrolls, Belief and Doubt, Why Religion Matters, The History Of God, The Battle For God, The Case For God, The Unfolding Drama Of The Bible, How The Bible Came To Be, and others.

 

He is married to the Rev. Sara A. Fetty, retired Associate Pastor of the Garden City Community Church (United Church of Christ) in Garden City, New York.  They have six children, five of whom are married, and fourteen grandchildren.

The Reverend Maurice A. Fetty (retired) was the Interim Senior Minister of the First (Park) Congregational Church (United Church of Christ),  Grand Rapids, MI, where he served from 2001 – 2005. Before that he retired as the Senior Minister of the Congregational Church of Manhasset (United Church of Christ) in Manhasset, New York, where he served from l988 – 2001. From 1972 – 1988 he was Senior Minister of the Mayflower Congregational Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Other ministries were in Minneapolis, East Harlem in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York.

 

Rev. Fetty holds the Master of Sacred Theology Degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, the Master of Arts Degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Master of Divinity Degree from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Bachelor of Arts Degree from Minnesota Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota (now in Rochester and renamed Crossroads College).

 

He is the author of fourteen books and numerous magazine and newspaper articles.
