ON GUN CONTROL

A recent report says that between 2005 - 2014 just oer 310,575 Americans died from guns. (source: Gun Policy.org)

1. 190,792 or 59.5% died in suicides

2. 117.368 or 36.6% died in homicides

3. 12, 455 or 3.8% died in other such as accidents, mass-shootings, terrorist attacks, etc.

As a result many people are calling for more stringent gun laws. What might those laws be?

1. A repeal of the Second Amendment: If so

a. How would it be accomplished politically?

b. How would it be enforced?

2. A mandatory confiscation of all privately owned guns? How would that be accomplished?

3. A voluntary surrender of all privately held guns?

a. Would all citizens comply?

b. Would criminals comply?

c. Would gang members and drug cartels comply?

4. A more stringent background check on gun buyers wherever guns are sold?

a. What about the millions who already own guns?

b. What about private and personal sales?

c. What about guns that are stolen?

5. A more careful monitoring of the mentally unstable with new requirements and immunities granted

too psychiatrists, counselors, ministers, priests, rabbis, social workers and other health professionals

to report potentially harmful people to the authorities?

6. A law holding responsible manufacturers of guns for all gun deaths and accidents?

7. A law prohibiting the smuggling of guns into our nation?

8. A law prohibiting the use of guns by police, security personnel and bodyguards?
